Traveling with Children
ChildTours was born out of the experience of traveling abroad with our three daughters, getting everyone ready, and deciding how best to handle a trip with little ones. Now they are older, and traveling has other distinct challenges (like teenagers needing to sleep in or having a picky eater), including combining work and play. ChildTours wants to understand your family and find the best range of services for your interests, time and passions.  Ellen has a Ph.D. in Spanish Literature, and combines this love of literature and history into the heart of itineraries planned for families interested in cultural experiences. Mitchell loves history, food, wine and golfing with his kids (he loves to pick the right restaurant for clients). Sue was a middle school teacher who really understands what kinds of things get the young and old engaged (anything gross, ghosts, castles and dungeons, etc.) And the children keep us realistic about what can be accomplished with a smile!

About Child Tours

Traveling with Children
“I know this isn’t over, but thanks for making this trip so amazing. Without your guidance and knowledge, we would have stumbled through this trip. The boys really know when it is something you planned for us to do as a family or when I have planned it! Thank you again for everything!”

Traveling with Children
Ellen at Childtours knows the challenges of travelling with children! She has a talent of seeking out experiences and finding child-friendly guides so that travel is an enriching activity for everyone (not just the adults while the kids groan!).   Ellen customized my trip to Krakow so that we were all engaged while sightseeing the environs of Krakow! The Crazy Tour guide showed us the Communist side of Krakow in his old communist style car, allowing us all to imagine living in Communist Poland, while giving my 10 year old the thrill of his life while he shifted the gears!  Ellen also arranged for a local guide to show us the sites of Krakow and to take us to the Salt Mines where my 6 year old loved licking the walls of salt! Our guide was a wealth of information and so sweet with the children. Thank you to Ellen for setting in motion a trip that we will never forget! ~Cynthia Bartlett

Traveling with Children

I can’t tell you what a great trip we had. We could have added another 3 weeks! The tours were wonderful-- all of them were great. What a luxury to have  private guides who was able to teach us about history, culture and traditions. We learned so much! Marisa’s favorite was our special  dinner at the Jules Verne after the Eiffel Tower tour. Thanks so much for your help. It made all the difference in the world. ~Stephanie Ferguson
